CASA volunteers meet with the children assigned on their case, review the DFCS file, speak to others that will shed light on the child’s situation and attend the Juvenile Court Hearings.
Reports are made by the CASAs to the court concerning the best interest of the child.
A safe, permanent, loving home,
what every child deserves...
Each year, thousands of children are thrust into court through no fault of their own.
Some are victims of violence, psychological torment, or sexual abuse. Others have been neglected or abandoned by their own parents. Most are frightened and confused. Often these children also become victims of the overburdened child welfare system - a complex legal network of lawyers, social workers, and judges who are too frequently overworked. CASAs help give thorough, detailed attention to each child.
CASA of Paulding County Mission Statement:
The mission of Court Appointed Special Advocates of Paulding County is to provide trained and supervised volunteers to speak for the best interests of abused and neglected children in the courts. We promote and support quality volunteer representation to provide each child a safe, permanent, nurturing home by representing each child for as long as the child is under court supervision, one child at a time. CASA of Paulding County is organized and operated as a non-profit corporation formed under the laws of the State of Georgia solely for charitable and educational purposes.
